  • 3 people are interested

The "I Have A Dream" Foundation of Boulder County is a local non-profit that works to empower students from low income communities to succeed in school, college, and career by providing academic, social, and emotional support from elementary school through college. We currently are serving over 600 Dreamer Scholars between the grades of 1st and 12th.

The Volunteer Department is seeking an intern (or two) who is expected to commit at least 2 days per week from ideally July through December. Interns will be given a variety of projects such as outreach and recruitment, database entry, processing new volunteers, run background checks, and help Department with the volunteer intake process.

This is a fantastic opportunity for college students who are wanting to gain experience with non-profit management, human resources, and community outreach. Internship is unpaid.

To apply, please email your resume, a short cover letter, and your availability and schedule to our Volunteer Manager, Liz Bolejack at liz@ihaveadreamboulder.org

Mission Statement

Mission: To empower children from low-income communities to succeed in school, college, and career by providing academic, social, and emotional support from elementary school through college, along with a post-secondary tuition assistance scholarship. Vision: Our dream is a world where all children have equal access to the educational and career opportunities that will ignite their innate potential.

Description

Since 1990, IHDF Boulder County has served more than 1,000 local youth, and currently has 12 active Dreamer Scholar Classes. The model, with its one-on-one attention and daily programming, has proven to narrow the opportunity gap. Dreamer Scholars graduate from high school, enroll in post-secondary programming, and complete their post-secondary education at much higher rates than their low-income peers.
