What is the BookSeller?
The BookSeller is a Used Bookstore operated by the Friends of Milwaukee Public Library in the Central Library (814 E. Wisconsin Ave). It is one of the best used bookstores in Milwaukee and is run by the best volunteers! The sales from The Bookseller directly support grants for books and materials for children and adults.
Sorting Room and BookSeller Staff
We have two main volunteer sections that we cross train our volunteers on at The BookSeller.
In the Sorting Room you will help bring in donations to our Sorting and pricing room. You will triage books by categories, publishing date and condition. A healthy knowledge of literature from classics to new bestsellers and everything in between is helpful but not necessary, just a love for books.
As part of the BookSeller Staff, customer service is key. Along with ringing up sales, you will assist customers, stock and face books and perform other retail tasks.
