This position is ideal for a student interested in gaining business and administrative experience in the nonprofit industry. The position will report directly to the Office Manager and CTEP Supervisor and will support the day to day activities of a unique and exciting mid-sized nonprofit in St. Paul. Students looking for real world experience in light accounting, human resources, planning, research and general administrative support are encouraged to apply.
Duties specifically include:
General Administrative Support
- Accounts Receivable and Payables using Quickbooks
- Assisting in monthly reporting
- Filing and Recordkeeping
Human Resources
- Assisting in payroll procedures
- Assisting in benefits management and reporting
Accounting
- Assisting in long term planning
The idea candidate can stay on task in a busy and dynamic environment and has a desire to learn about the administrative activities of a nonprofit. Strong organizational skills, positive personality, and the ability to work in a diverse environment is necessary. Experience in Office software and ability to learn new software easily is necessary. An interest in community technology and community media is desired but not required. We work in a relaxed, fun but professional environment with 19 full time staff and a number of part time and contract employees. A minimum of 3 months commitment but we can offer a flexible schedule. This position would be for 10-15 hours a week, with potential for more for the right candidate. Assistance with travel can be provided depending on the length of commitment. The position will also have the ability to take courses and utilize educational resources in the organization at no cost. This is a great opportunity to build some skills and add to resume work experience in a friendly and unique organization.

- Improve community social, civic, and economic equity.
