Cornerstone Builders Bus Assistants

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans

Volunteers needed to assist on Cornerstone Builders free monthly bus trips to visit incarcerated individuals. Two volunteers per month needed to ride the bus with families and friends of incarcerated persons. The volunteers will assist the passengers in embarkation/debarkation, and assist the driver. They will help calm passengers, be there to answer questions, and be there to just listen if passengers need to talk. Volunteers will not be able to enter the prison, so will need to sit on the bus to wait for clients to return (bringing a book or magazine is recommended!).

Buses depart 1425 Walkertown Way, Marrero, LA.

Buses depart at 8 am and trips usually take a full day. Buses visit one prison per month, and schedule rotates between 5 different prisons. Trips take place once a month: contact us for upcoming dates.
