Feeding Survivors of Domestic Violence - Help In CASA's Food Pantry Weekly!

CASA is partnering with Feeding Tampa Bay, to begin receiving weekly donations of food to be used to prepare meals for the survivors of domestic violence and their children, who are living in our 130-bed Emergency Shelter.

Each Monday morning we will receive the donation, and are seeking 3-4 capable volunteers to assist in sorting and shelving the donations of various types of perishable and nonperishable food items.

This will be a weekly commitment for at least the next 6 months to one year (or as long as the partnership will last).

Qualifications: Must be able to bend and lift at least 20 lbs, and must be at least 16 years old. Must be able to commit to the entire length of the partnership, or at least 6-months of service. Must be understanding of confidentiality and safety issues surrounding CASA's Emergency Shelter.

Description

CASA operates the area’s 24-hour crisis hotline and 100-bed emergency shelter, offers community support groups, provides courtroom advocacy, assists the Child Protective Investigative team and conducts community and corporate training.

In addition, CASA's Peacemakers Program teaches anti-bullying and healthy relationship curriculum throughout the Pinellas County school system to end the generational cycle of violence.
