This opportunity will allow you to hone your communication skills to empower and enlighten women in tech. The Social Media Manager will assist the Communications Director to develop overall messaging and social media awareness for the chapter.
Our ideal candidate will:
- Demonstrate strong writing and editing skills
- Communicate clearly and effectively
- Be capable of thinking creatively and analytically
- Be able to conduct independent research into target market
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining company presence on social media sites like Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
- Assist in the writing of content for social network
- Analyzing the chapter’s social media and online presence
- Researching ways to reach a wider audience base, either online or in print
- Ensuring that all digital communications are aligned with the chapter’s brand identity
Requirements:
- Adhere to deadlines when posting for events
- Willing to commit 2-5 hours per week for at least 3 months
- Assist in Fundraising or coordinating Logistics for an Event (no experience needed)
We provide an opportunity to have a true leadership experience to put on your resume. Opportunities to network directly with ChickTech Headquarters’ executive staff. Extensive networking opportunities at a local level with a wide diversity of tech companies and other organizations. Having a direct impact on the ability of the local ChickTech chapter to be able to enact its mission. Having a positive, direct impact in the lives of girls and women.

Description
ChickTech is a multi-generational community helping each other become technology creators. We facilitate hands-on technology-centric events and mentorship to empower, support, and increase the confidence of girls, women, and non-binary folks. Through our programs, we build community, empower participants to see themselves as leaders, and provide networking and mentoring opportunities in the rapidly growing tech industry.
As a mostly volunteer-run non-profit, we are always searching for partners who would like to get involved through donations of expertise, volunteer time, in-kind, funding, or just by helping to get the word out.
