As a Volunteer Coordinator you will help the Harbor Dish to most efficiently manage our volunteers to keep our organization running as smoothly as possible! This includes recruiting new volunteers, overall volunteer management and ensuring that our volunteers are filling roles suited for them in order to meet our organization's needs. You will represent the values of the Harbor Dish and be dedicated to the goal of bringing the community together with nutritious food.
You will create and supervise volunteer schedules through our main database with Volgistics. You will need to effectively communicate organization updates to volunteers. You will need to assist in helping volunteer leaders work cooperatively with each other.
You should be proficient in Word, internet and email applications. Having experience working in nonprofit work, volunteer resource management and/or resources in volunteerism would be a plus.
You should have people leadership and management experience. you should be effective in communication and be able to work collaboratively and be able to prioritize. You should be adaptable, creative, and take initiative and exhibit good leadership. You should have excellent time management and organizational skills. You should be able to meet deadlines and be reliable, trustworthy, and open to learning new ways of doing things.
We would also need you to be available for 1 meeting per week and be LOCAL so that we can meet up when necessary.
