Mission Statement

The Harbor Dish’s Mission is to build community, reduce food waste and provide customers with delicious, vibrant culinary art. The Harbor Dish provides an opportunity where people from all parts of our community can "break bread" together. The Harbor Dish provides volunteer opportunities, jobs and training for individuals in our community. This is exemplified by the work we do at risk youth, women, children and the elderly, as well as other non profit organizations.

Description

The Harbor Dish community cafe is a 501(c)3 created in 2013 to serve the Safety Harbor, Florida area. The Harbor Dish creates delicious food where individuals needing a helping hand can dine with dignity. We have established a network of community minded people that have built a caring community that utilizes local farmers, businesses, and volunteers to enrich the lives of our patrons and reduce food waste.

The Harbor Dish is a dedicated and caring organization. It’s a small group of people, making a difference and being involved in the community. Since it is smaller than most groups, volunteers can really make a difference in all areas.

On January 9, 2015 I signed up on Volunteer Match to help volunteer in the Museum Store at the Henry B. Plant Museum as a Museum Store Assistant. They called me and I went to orientation on January 26, 2015 and I've been there ever since. I love volunteering there! Also, I helped volunteer with the Girl Scouts quite a while ago with a fun run in Safety Harbor. (it was a fundraiser) .....and then I volunteered, though it has been quite a long time ago, with "Brides Against Breast Cancer." That was a great experience, too!
