Morning Build Crew...
Help build the braziers (metal baskets on the river) that will set the city alight at sunset. You will get the chance to hop aboard a WaterFire wood boat and help artistically construct the braziers. You will with use cardboard, newspaper and other fire fuse materials in the center of the brazier and build a 'tepee' of firewood around the fire fuse materials. After all braziers on the river are built you will help reload firewood into the six wood boats for the evening feeds. Afterwards enjoy lunch with your crew and the WaterFire staff...

WaterFire Volunteer Attire:
- Comfortable clothing you can work in and do not mind getting dirty
- Mask (optional) - WaterFire will have black masks on site
- Closed toe shoes - there are many areas with cobblestone and equipment to protect your feet from
Suggestion: No large personal items and weather appropriate clothing.
WaterFire ditches plastic water bottles! We eliminated the plastic from constructing the braziers and we want to reduce our carbon footprint by eliminating the need for single-use plastic bottles. We ask that you please bring a reusable water bottle to your shift and you will be able to refill on site.
Volunteer Team Requests:
- If you are unable to make it to your shift, please let me know as soon as possible or unregister on the website.
- Please be on time for your shift! WaterFire volunteers have the most important role to make a WaterFire lighting possible.
- WaterFire will go on regardless of the weather, so please plan accordingly. We will be in touch if there are any emergencies.

Description
WaterFire Providence Brings Art to the Community, by the Community
WaterFire Providence is known for the lightings that take place downtown with local artists and food vendors. We hope to get back to lightings downtown later this year but for now our main focus is the WaterFire Arts Center (WFAC)! Since the pandemic WaterFire continued to create art for the community, by the community at the WFAC.
WaterFire Providence Volunteers are an integral part of every event we host. They assist in all aspects of event production, special projects, and anything else we dream up.
Volunteers build, perform, inspire, engage, and enjoy! WaterFire volunteers come from all walks of life, and we appreciate the diversity and talents that are among them. Over the years, a network of volunteers has been established, and we are delighted at the community that they have become.
