ABOUT FARESTART
FareStart provides a community that transforms lives by empowering homeless and disadvantaged men,
women, and families to achieve self-sufficiency through life skills, job training and employment in the food
service industry. We empower each individual to achieve his or her highest potential by restoring hope,
giving respect, nurturing self-confidence, granting trust, and creating opportunity.

FareStart's Community Meals program incorporates recovered food into nutritious meals serving several area emergency and transitional facilities. Come out to Food Bank Farm, a nonprofit partner, to harvest produce with us that will help Community Meals feed hungry people. Food Bank Farm’s mission is to end hunger in the PNW by growing fresh produce for area food banks. Please feel free to sign up for one or all of these opportunities.

WHO WE ARE

FareStart has been helping people transform their lives through food for 30 years - one person, one job and one community at a time.

People experiencing poverty struggle to escape the cycle they are in and often face other compounding barriers to getting and keeping a job. At FareStart, we help people overcome barriers by teaching work and life skills needed to succeed in employment and in life. By investing in people, providing meals and building community, we transform homelessness, hunger and poverty into human potential.
