Time Commitment: July- November 2018
This internship position requires an average of 10 hours per week, with additional hours in September and October due to the proximity of the Gala. Full day availability during the rehearsal, October 7th and Gala, October 20 th is required.

Compensation: Unpaid internship, internship credit is available.

Position Summary
Collaborates in developing overall theme for Glitter Gala Fashion Show. For assigned segments, works with Show Design Producer to pull, style, fit, and accessorize looks.

Responsibilities

  • Attend meetings to be set by the group.
  • Support Show Design Producer and committee in determining theme and format for rehearsal and show.
  • Assist with creating concept boards, artistic inspiration statement and "look book" of designs.
  • Facilitate creating individual show segments, adhering to predetermined "Look" and "Feel."
  • Pull garments and accessories at Seattle Goodwill store.
  • Fit models in show segments.
  • Work to style, accessorize and prep segments for event day.
  • Complete assigned event day functions and assist with management of all models in dressing rooms and backstage areas.
  • Assist with post-event activities including event clean up.
  • Assist with other projects as assigned/time allows based on interest areas

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work with diverse personalities
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel programs
  • Ability to articulate creative ideas and execute them within a team structure
  • Currently enrolled and in good standing at an accredited college or university
  • Prior experience with events and/or fashion is preferable
  • Must be available the entire day of the rehearsal, October 22 and the Glitter Gala, November 4.

Essential Physical Abilities
Lift and carry 25 pounds; Developed fine motor control (grasp, handle, manipulate objects with fingers; Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, stooping, squatting, pushing; Standing for extended periods of time; Able to travel across a variety of surfaces (stairs, ramps, uneven terrain).

Working Conditions
Retail/Production and office working environment, moderate noise level and dust.
