Best Single Source Plus (BSS+):

• A collaboration of 12 local nonprofit partner agencies dedicated to: Serving the most vulnerable residents of Austin/Travis County, housing families and individuals who are experiencing homelessness and preventing homelessness for residents at risk of losing their housing.

• Research and Evaluation interns help measure the impact of the Best Single Source Plus program across a collaborative of social service agencies in the City of Austin. Tasks include data collection, research, and evaluating a wide range of programmatic initiatives. Interns have the opportunity to analyze data and report internally and externally on the outcomes of the BSS+ program initiatives including support services, grant-funded programs, public health and health policy initiatives. The goal of the internship is to use the data and analysis to inform financial impact of the Collaborative's services and the Austin community and develop a white paper for continued and increased funding. Interns must have strong computer skills including Excel and Word and have the ability to do research-type tasks such as analyze data and develop charts and tables to be included in reports.

• Establish an initial evaluation plan to measure the impact of the BSS Plus program.
• Implement evaluation plan
• Create a white paper to present to the City of Austin
• Complete training for an HMIS license
• Pull reports from Homeless Management Information System (HMIS)
• Assist in organizing and analyzing data for BSS Plus
• Work with partner agencies to gather qualitative and quantitative data
• Create an ongoing evaluation plan and train staff on the process
• Ability to work from home at the discretion of the BSS Plus Program Manager
• Observe all Caritas policies for interns
• Work under the supervision of the BSS plus Data Services coordinator
• Regularly record hours on google doc online reports
• other duties as agreed to with the BSS Plus Staff

• Statistical experience is required
• Demonstrated experience with research, evaluation, and analysis
• Ability to work independently, under the direction of the BSS Plus staff
• Patient and able to work with a diverse group of stakeholders
• Ability to communicate with diverse populations, individuals and families
• Reliable, dependable and follows through on commitments.
