The Communities In Schools Ready, Set, Read--Tacoma! program is an early childhood literacy program designed to help prepare children for kindergarten in Tacoma Public Schools. This program is introduces children over the age of 3 to early literacy and STEAM concepts and is offered for free to families with children in the community. Children win prizes for reading books, increasing in stages until they become Champions at 50 books read.

Our program coordinator needs administrative assistance in our main office with prize distribution, public outreach events, phone calls and data entry from our main office. You’d be able to do this at any time, for however long.

By volunteering to provide administrative help, you are supporting the smooth operation of our program to increase children's literacy in your community!

Communities In Schools is part of the 5th largest youth development organization in the country. We are the only ones proven to increase graduation rates AND decrease dropout rates.

We serve as the bridge between the student and the community, bringing in resources that help break down the barriers that students have to be successful in school.
