Want to make a difference in the lives of students? We need you! Our All-Star Reading program is looking for volunteers to be reading buddies with students at Fern Hill Elementary. The 1st-3rd grade students in this literacy program are reading below their grade level and we need you to help increase their reading capabilities. If you like to read and would like to assist students in reaching their reading goals, this is the perfect fit for you! The after-school program takes place every Tues. & Thur. from 4:00 - 5:15 pm, with during-school tutoring now available for those with a more flexible schedule. We look forward to meeting you! Communities In Schools of Tacoma is seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to inspire students to grow their math skills! Stewart Middle school serves students aged 11-14, many of whom are below grade level in math and need help to complete math assignments. Math coaches help students one-on-one after school, keeping them motivated and on-task so that they can complete their math homework. Can you inspire a student to stay on track and complete their assignments? Then we need you! Oakland High School serves students aged 14-18, many of whom are credit-deficient and in need of extra help to complete their assignments. Academic coaches meet with students one-on-one or in small groups to help them stay focused and get their work done. We are especially in need of academic coaches who can help in Math, in particular, Algebra and Geometry assignments and Science.
