The Global Campaign for Education United States (GCE-US) is looking for leaders
with a passion for education. GCE-US is a broad-based coalition of national and
community-based organizations, international NGOs, teacher unions, faith-based
groups, and think tanks dedicated to ensuring universal quality education for all
children.
Our board provides strategic and financial oversight, determines and supports the
mission and ensures adequate resources. Our board members are dynamic
community leaders and serve as ambassadors in the wider community for GCE-US
and the mission to achieve Education for All.
Board participation
Full board meetings are held twice a year in Washington DC, with
quarterly/committee meetings taking place as necessary. We are open to board
members from outside the DC area, but hope that all board members will join us at
least once a year in person (at their own expense).
Qualifications
This is an extraordinary opportunity for an individual who is passionate about
education and collaboration. No education expertise is necessary but selected board
members will have a track record of leadership and/or voluntary contributions in
business, government, philanthropy, or the nonprofit sector. We are particularly
looking for those with a passion for or experience in fundraising.
People of color, people with disabilities, LGBTQ populations, and candidates
representing marginalized groups are strongly encouraged to apply.

Description
GCE-US seeks fulfill its mission through four objectives:
Build a coalition and lead the global education community and supporters to ensure that the U.S. becomes a leader in the effort to achieve universal quality education.
Educate and support policymakers and encourage them to actively pursue policies that scale up quality education to reach all children, including the most marginalized children and youth.
Generate media that raises awareness about global education.
Build, sustain, and increase public support for universal quality education.
