Make an impact working with local male youth while using your own creativity and relationship-building skills! The HALO JC Boys Program Coordinator Intern will primarily focus on building relationships with youth, assisting JC Boys Program Manager in managing the program and activity calendar, and researching community resources to benefit HALO youth.

This position will be for 20 hours a week and consists of 70% of your time spent directly with boys at the program, and the remaining time consists of office hours for administrative and program planning purposes.

This intern will report to The JC Boys Program Manager and the time frame for this Internship can either be from 3 months to 12 months.

A majority of this position will comprise of:

Collaborating with HALO Program Manager to plan and prepare the house for youth and program facilitation, including but not limited to dinner prep, communicating evening plan to volunteers, and transportation assistance.

Allocating hours to be in the office working on program development, such as scheduling life skill speakers, youth outings, attending meetings and gaining experience in a professional environment.

Spending 2-3 nights a week working directly with youth in the program.

Help provide resources for their immediate needs identified during program time.

Assist with HALO Heat basketball program as needed.

Help capture photos and videos of program participants and any special projects such as the HALO Documentary and special event content.

Other focuses during the internship will include:

Track weekly statistics and outcomes by compiling information reported and then entry into Apricot

Work with HALO Program Manager to analyze pre-and post-surveys to measure success and outcomes.

Assisting with special events that arise during the time of your internship

Candidates for this Internship must exhibit strong communication and relational skills. Also be able to work well in a team atmosphere, highly motivated, enjoy brainstorming, and take the initiative on all projects. Excellent opportunity to gain a variety of experiences. Please note this is an unpaid internship; however this an excellent opportunity to gain a variety of experience in the nonprofit sector.
