We are currently looking for Veteran Volunteers to visit hospice patients that are also veterans in their own homes, long term care facilities and nursing homes. There are many locations and opportunities available. Volunteers are needed to visit veteran patients at Missouri Veterans Home located at 10600 Lewis and Clark Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63136.
In addition, there are many ways VITAS Veteran Volunteers can help veterans; including but not limited to: driving and/or accompany a veteran to appointments, shopping and other events; help a veteran apply for benefits or learn about available assistance; help replace lost or stolen military medals by contacting appropriate agencies; listen to life stories or record or videotape a veteran’s reminiscences; call veterans to ask how they are doing; attend or help plan activities celebrating Memorial Day and Veteran’s Day; educate veteran’s groups about hospice services by speaking at their meetings.

Description
Volunteers are the heart of VITAS Healthcare, providing friendly, non- medical support to hospice patients and their family or offering support services in the office. We are seeking caring and compassionate individuals to volunteers for our patients in their homes or in nursing facilities in the community.
