Mobile App Prototyping (iOS) Project Deliverables

  • A proof-of-concept iOS app prototype (compatible with iPhone, iPad)
  • Documentation of the functionality and how users will use the new app

  • Consultation on how to publish and maintain the app, as well as resources for finding assistance moving forward

  • Note: The Mobile app will be a functional prototype but will not be production ready with full user experience (i.e. visual design, animation, etc). Here are some examples of mobile app prototypes: Safe Eats, SF Trees.


Prerequisites PROFESSIONAL
  • iOS development experience
  • Experience building an native app from start to finish
Project Steps
  • Prep: Distribute initial information and set project goals, timeline, and anticipated process
    • Volunteer Manager provides details of the product/service concept and main functionality for the mobile app
    • Professional connects with the Volunteer Manager for a brainstorming/overview session to discuss goals, mobile app concept and user stories
    • Professional and Volunteer Manager outline next steps and timeline for the project
  • Milestone 1: Creation of the app definition document and prototype and incorporation of Volunteer Manager’s feedback
    • Professional creates an app definition document outlining how the backend and frontend of the app will work together and discusses the document with the Volunteer Manager
    • Professional creates a rough prototype of the app and shares it with the Volunteer Manager
    • Volunteer Manager provides professional with up to two rounds of feedback
  • Milestone 2: Delivery of final proof-of-concept iOS app prototype and a document of app functionality
    • Professional documents the functionality of the app prototype
    • Professional answers any questions and provides recommendations for publishing and maintaining the app going forward
