The Institute Of Living Greenhouse is part of the Department of Psychiatric Vocational Services, and is committed to providing innovative and individualized vocational services to clients while producing creative and customized products for our customers, including dining and catering, retail and horticultural training as sites throughout the IOL campus. The Greenhouse/Horticulture and patio garden piece at the IOL is part of the Vocational Rehabilitation Program, as well as a small retail endeavor serving the IOL Community and providing an enjoyable sitting area for staff, visitors, and clients. Volunteers are needed to:

• Plant flowers and maintain garden, pruning, trimming, weeding, and ensuring plants receive adequate water. Volunteers should have knowledge of perennial garden care and have a general knowledge of house plant care. Our greenhouse plants change depending of what we can purchase at any given time and training will be provided if needed.
• Maintain greenhouse indoor houseplants, repotting, watering, and pruning. Upkeep of inside and outside patio area.
• Provide minimal customer service (volunteers may have minimal responsibilities for handling sales if they are interested in doing so)
• Volunteers will not be interacting with clients/students, and a supervisor will be available at all times

Initially we are looking for one volunteer who can be at the hospital one day a week, hopefully beginning in April and through the end of summer/early fall.
