Volunteer In-Home Decluttering Coaches Needed!

We are a clinical research lab in Stanford's School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry and are currently running a study with participants who are struggling with clutter. The clinical study offers these individuals peer-lead support group session for 16 weeks and 10 2-hour in-home decluttering coaching sessions.

For this study, we need community members located in San Mateo and Santa Clara counties to act as in-home coaches.

Coach Role
:

Visit the home of a participant to help them practice the skills/exercises they are learning in group session. NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED!
Coaches go with a partner to their participant's home. Exercises and materials are provided by the lab.
Our current and former coaches speak highly of their rewarding experience helping participants overcome their clutter issues.
A certificate with the number of hours volunteered is provided at the completion of volunteering.

Time Commitment
:

- 6 weeks of online training (20min-1h/week)
- Two 3-hour training sessions (6 hours total)
- Ten 2-hour coaching sessions (20 hours total) over the course of 11 weeks
- Timing is fairly flexible, many sessions are in the evening or on weekends

Role Requirements
:

- Must be 18 or older
- Provide your own transportation
- Completion of data collection forms
- Good communication with partner-coach and lab staff
