At Warren Village First Step* young moms are required to attend an in-person Life Skills class on the first Wednesday of every month and Positive Community Culture Meetingsevery Monday evening as part of their program requirements. While they attend class and meetings, we offer free Childcare on-site, so that young moms may attend class knowing their children are in good hands.
When: Monday Evenings - 4:45 pm - 6:45pm
Wednesday Evenings - 4:45pm - 6:45pm
What: Volunteers provide care for children ages 6 weeks through 12 years old. First Step is a smaller group of young, single parent families. Volunteers will have the opportunity to work with the same group of children each time they volunteer. Evening childcare is a great volunteer opportunity for students, those with babysitting experience, people with childcare or early childhood education backgrounds, and anyone who loves working with children.
Frequency: Flexible, at least once per month

Warren Village helps single parents write their own success stories. Warren Village is a two-year, transformational housing program for low-income, single-parent families. Our residential community and programs provide parents the tools they need to move from government assistance to personal and financial independence. As the the first program of its kind in the country, Warren Village provides an innovative mix of affordable housing, case management, on-site childcare, education and job training.
