The Carnegie Center is currently recruiting volunteer tutors for the one-on-one tutoring program for the last half of the school year 2022-2023. Tutors may choose to tutor in-person at the Carnegie Center, or be matched with a child for virtual instruction. Tutoring requires a one-hour-a-week commitment and hours are flexible. Tutors may select their preferred grade level and schedule.
Learn, play, and make a difference in a child's life! Tutor matches are more important than ever- children have had limited access to learning and social interactions over the last 16 months. Tutoring helps a child re-build their confidence in learning and builds social skills which are crucial for success and overall well-being.
All tutors must be 16 years of age or older, if over 18 the volunteer must pass a background check. Orientations and trainings are available and every tutor gets to take a free class at the Carnegie Center! To sign up, please contact Carol Jordan at tutoring@carnegiecenterlex.org.
*If tutor and tutee choose to meet at the Carnegie Center, tutoring will be spaced out in well-ventilated areas. All parties will be required to wear a facial covering.
We ask that all tutors be fully vaccinated and wear a mask at all times
Virtual Volunteers across the US welcome!
