The Great Inflatable Race is the bounciest fun run on earth! At The Great Inflatable Race, participants climb, slide and bounce on inflatable obstacles that are spread throughout the race course. And this year, The Great Inflatable Race is partnering with Crisis Services for their Buffalo race on Saturday, July 14th! A portion of the race proceeds goes to benefiting Crisis Services, so get all of your friends and family to sign up for the race using promo code CRISIS!

We are also looking for A LOT of volunteers to help out; specifically at Packet Pickup on Friday, July 13, 2018, and Race Day Registration on Saturday, July 14, 2018. But there are plenty of other shifts that you can sign up for too; see the full list volunteer shift descriptions below. Volunteers must be 18 or older. Volunteers who are ages 16-17 can volunteer as long as a supervising adult is volunteering for the same shift.

To volunteer on behalf of Crisis Services, please contact Meg Ryan or visit https://registermyrace.com/register/volunteer/the-great-inflatable-race-buffalo/479?volunteer=1 to sign up and be sure to enter "Crisis Services" into the comments section.

Description

Suicide Prevention and Crisis Service, Inc. began operation in November of 1968 after two years of strategic planning by the Mental Health Association, the Psychological Association of WNY, the Community Welfare Council, and the Erie County Department of Mental Health. It was developed to have broader purposes and concerns in the area of emergency mental health services than currently available by offering a 24/7 response.

Crisis Services of Erie County is the most comprehensive crisis center in upstate New York. Crisis Services fulfills community needs by providing:

* Crisis Phone Counseling Center

* Emergency Outreach

* Trauma Response

* Rape and Domestic Violence Advocacy

* Crisis Intervention Training

* Police Mental Health Coordination

Crisis Services is certified by the American Association of Suicidology, we are the NYS Department of Health Designated Rape Crisis Center, and the NYS Approved Non-Residential Domestic Violence Service Provider. We are also a United Way Member Agency.

The credit for our success goes to our excellent staff and volunteers who work long and difficult hours to provide these services. This comprehensive care is provided by 70 full and part-time staff with the support of 125 professionally trained volunteers. We are fortunate to have people dedicated to this work and who demonstrate commitment to improving the quality of life in Erie County.
