Position: Treasurer

Location: From your own home

Your Committment: Once a week, 1hour or less.

Office hours: You set your own hours.

Reports to: Field Representative

Description of position:
The money used to pay the bills are from the previous year’s Red Kettle Drive from your local Salvation Army operating account. The Treasurer is responsible for paying the bills and invoices from vouchers that come in the mail from the Human Service Secretary from your local Service Unit providing emergency food, utility assistance, rent assistance. It’s a very important job for your community. You will not have direct contact with clients. Your role is to pay the bills.

List of the vital job functions:

  • Maintain a bank account with The Salvation Army credit line and a separate depository account for donations.
  • Write checks to pay vendors for vouchers written.
  • Send in to our Divisional Headquarters receipts for reimbursements to keep the account active.
  • Keep bank register up to date.


Good verbal and written communication skills required. Ability to keep a check book balanced.
