Meals on Wheels of Metro Tulsa provides meals for about 1,000 homebound individuals each day. This year we are hosting our first Kitchen Spring Clean Project. Throughout the month of March we will be helping our homebound neighbors clean out their refrigerators and purge their pantries of expired or spoiled food. This may be simple a simple task for most of us, however, many of our recipients are no longer able to read expiration dates, reach items on tall shelves, or have the energy for a deep clean. Something as simple as this can help our meal recipients maintain their health and independence as the continue to live in their own homes.
Note: We will also be replacing some expired items with new pantry items. If you would like to donate some/any canned goods, let us know and we can plan for that too.
So, bring a small group of friends, some heavy duty cleaning gloves and jump into Spring Cleaning with a neighbor in need.
