ProduceGood is a local nonprofit; our mission is to build an informed and engaged community committed to finding sustainable solutions to alleviate hunger, reclaim and repurpose waste and promote the health and well-being of all.

Every weekend we run our Farmer’s Market food recovery program, "Market Share" at multiple farmers markets in San Diego. At these events, volunteers help us collect fresh and nutritious produce which is donated to local agencies. With the help of our farmer partners, we collected 30,000 pounds in 2017 and provided 90,000 servings to our fresh-only food supply network of feeding agencies!

We utilize reusable collapsible bins to distribute these weekly harvests at these agencies. We need your help to continue the success of our Market Share program by driving a couple hours a week to collect the bins to bring back to our headquarters in Encinitas.

As with all nonprofits, there is a constant struggle for funding. One of the biggest challenges we face with the food is moving the food-- it’s a complex and logistical challenge that we’ve been trying to manage ourselves. Getting help from our volunteers in this area would be a massive support and boon to the organization.

Responsibilities and Requirements:

• Volunteer must have a valid CA driver's license and proof of insurance, preferred vehicle with enough space to fit our equipment. (typical 4-door sedan would be large enough if trunk space and passenger seating is cleared)
• Volunteer will spend 1.5-2 hours (depending on location) driving to pick up our bins at 3 locations downtown, then drop off bins at our headquarters in Encinitas.
