We are seeking individuals with a commitment to ensuring that all children have equal access to math. By volunteering to review translations of Zeno program materials, you will be helping deliver the best possible program to the diverse families we serve!

Volunteers who review translations must meet the following qualifications:

  • Must be available to volunteer 2-3 hours on a project-to-project basis. Projects may be a few weeks apart throughout the year.
  • Must be fluent in English
  • Experience with Microsoft Word
  • Must be a native language speaker of any language listed below:

  • Vietnamese / Tiếng Việt
  • Russian / русский
  • Somali / Somali
  • Amharic / አማርኛ

Zeno's mission is to increase children’s competence and confidence in math with fun and engaging activities. We serve early learners and elementary school aged children in communities furthest from opportunity. Our vision is a world where everyone knows they can do math.

Mission Statement

Out mission is to build a positive math culture by creating confidence and excitement for math in children through age 11, offering programs that develop skills through play, and involving the entire community including teachers, families, out of school care providers and community members.

Description

Our programs encourage students to explore, question and experience math by using games, hands-on activities, group projects and technology to further establish math skills and concepts.

Goals
Our goals are specific:

    1. Create confidence and excitement for math in young children.
    2. Start early in the educational lives of children.
    3. Involve the entire school community, including teachers and parents.

We have a five pronged strategy:
  1. Create high quality programs that adhere to state and national educational standards.
  2. Work inside and outside of the classroom
  3. Offer a variety of fun and interesting out-of-class activities.
  4. Create confident teachers of mathematics
  5. Build programs that can be sustained within a school over the long term.
