Trail Run

Join parents of Valley Elementary School and fellow volunteers at beautiful Lake Poway on May 5th for the schools largest fundraiser - the Cinco de Mayo Trail Run. This 5K, 10K and kids fun run attracts about 1200 participants from San Diego County who take on the challenging off-road, scenic course around the lake.

We have volunteer positions to suit everyone, such as Water table attendant, Parking Control, Kids Race Marshal, Food and Drink distribution.

All proceeds go directly to Title I Valley Elementary school to continue to give all students equal access to the school supplies, technology tools, and enrichment activities needed to build a foundation for lifelong success.

The Foundation brings parents and community members together to raise money to enrich the educational experience so that every child at Valley Elementary School can succeed.

Description

Our sole purpose as a foundation is to raise money to support Valley Elementary School in Poway. Since Poway has a strong reputation for its top-ranked and thriving school district, it is easy to not realize that many of our students at Valley Elementary are actually struggling. In fact, 52% of students at Valley Elementary are socioeconomically disadvantaged and 52% participate in the school’s free lunch program-that’s an astonishing 222% higher rate than the district average. The Cinco De Mayo Trail Run raises funds that will give all kids equal access and opportunity to the school supplies, technology tools, and enrichment activities needed to build a foundation for lifelong success.
