Tutors needed to assist low-wage janitors and other service workers to prepare for citizenship exam & other requirements. These students qualify to take the naturalization exam in SPANISH. Spanish-speaking tutor will help answer students' questions, lead activities, and work with a small group of students.

Our Organization: Building Skills Partnership (BSP) is a statewide non-profit collaboration between the California janitors' union (SEIU-USWW), community leaders, and responsible businesses to build a strong future for building service workers, their families, and communities by advancing skills, opportunities, and self sufficiency.

Volunteer Skill Requirements: Patience, enthusiasm, respect for other cultures, and flexibility. Commitment and dependability. Spanish speaking skills required.

Class Schedule: Saturdays from 11:00am - 1:00pm starting immediately

Location: SEIU-USWW Office - 1401 21st Street, suite 310, Sacramento, CA 95811

Benefits: As a volunteer at BSP you will receive training and acquire skills in teaching Citizenship, gain knowledge about the issues facing newcomer families, and learn about the social services and other resources available to immigrants and low-wage workers in the Bay Area communities. BSP is a registered 501(c)(3) and volunteer hours can count towards fulfilling a community service requirement.
