The Los Angeles Angelman Syndrome National Walk will join 40 other cities nationwide to host this community-wide event themed to raise funds and awareness for Angelman Syndrome. This year, the walk is moving from it's usual venue at Shane's Inspiration at Griffith Park to Pan Pacific Park in Los Angeles.
Angelman syndrome (AS) is a neuro-genetic disorder that occurs in one in 15,000 live births. Characteristics of the disorder include developmental delay, lack of speech, seizures, and walking and balance disorders. Individuals with Angelman syndrome will require life-long care.
We are looking for volunteers to help with event set-up, goody bag stuffing, registration, signage, and clean-up.
