Over half a million people visit Tryon Creek State Natural Area every year. Friends of Tryon Creek and Oregon State Parks work in collaboration to provide positive visitor experiences that deepen connections to this unique urban forest.
Outreach Ambassador Volunteers help welcome all park visitors, share park information and build community.
Individually or in teams of two, Outreach Ambassadors set up an interactive table display in a high traffic area of the park. They use a combination of interpretation and outreach skills to catch the attention of park visitors and connect them with our shared mission, programming and the natural and cultural history of the park. Volunteer times are flexible (usually Fridays and Saturdays June - September and at special events).
Training participants will learn an overview of the Friends of Tryon Creek and Oregon State Parks, see interpretation skills in action and learn about upcoming volunteer opportunities. New and current volunteers are welcome to participate.
If you have any questions before signing up contact Amy Stout, Volunteer Coordinator, at amy@tryonfriends.org.
