POSITION TITLE: PHOTOGRAPHER
COMPENSATION: $0 - ALL VOLUNTEER - The person who takes advantage of this opportunity probably does this every day for work or as a hobby, offering the opportunity to use your skills and expertise to make a difference in the lives of at-risk dogs and cats while building a strong portfolio that can aid in career advancement.
JOB SUMMARY: We’re seeking skilled and passionate photographers to help on an as needed basis to take photographs of dogs and cats in our rescue program. These photos will primarily be used to help market pets for adoption and document before and after results of our mission.
- Candid photos of volunteers and event attendees with our pets which will be used to help recruit volunteers, fosters, and adopters.
- Portrait photos of our Board Members and Directors to use on the "About Us" section of our website.
TASKS & REQUIREMENTS
- General knowledge and proven skills in the field of photography.
- Photographer must have access to own equipment.
- All photos must be able to be used on our website, social media accounts and general BAR collateral.
- All photos will be requested in digital form and in a timely format.
- No printing is required.
- Photography sessions with our pets can be done during one of our scheduled adoption events, in your studio, at the foster parent's home, or at a local park.
- Interest and passion in helping animals.
- Friendly and outgoing and willingness to interact with event attendees and BAR volunteers and fosters.

Mission Statement
​Bastrop Animal Rescue is an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) non-profit animal welfare organization whose mission is to save and improve the lives of animals in Bastrop County. We provide life-saving medical care for at-risk dogs and cats in the local shelter and community. We also work with members of the community to provide the education and resources needed to be responsible pet owners.
Description
Bastrop Animal Rescue (BAR) is funded entirely by donations and run by volunteers to save and improve the lives of pets in the community. We have no shelter or facility. The pets in our care are fostered in volunteer foster homes until they find their new loving, responsible, lifelong homes.
Since our inception, Bastrop Animal Rescue has saved the lives of over 2,000 at-risk pets. We focus on the animals with the most extreme needs: life-threatening medical cases, chained dogs, and many community cats and kittens.
We have recently broadened the scope of our mission to improve the lives of pets in the community by educating pet owners and providing them with the resources needed to become responsible pet parents.
