Quality of care is one of the cornerstones of our mission - a mission that could not be accomplished without the many 'helping hands' of our volunteers. We are seeking volunteers to provide administrative assistance at our new Dearborn office location, to support our patients and families behind the scenes. This volunteer would be seated at the front desk of our suite, welcoming visitors. Tasks include assembling packets, stuffing and addressing envelopes, scanning documents, making copies, entering information into Excel spreadsheets, and entering information into our electronic medical records system. Basic office and computer skills are necessary, but specific training on all projects will be provided.
Our hospice volunteers have shared that they find their work to be personally gratifying and meaningful, and we hope that you will share in this experience.
Scheduling is flexible within normal business hours on weekdays, and we ask that our volunteers make at least a one year commitment to our organization, volunteering once per week or more. Volunteers will be provided with ongoing one-on-one staff support throughout their service with us, and will be invited to ongoing education opportunities, and appreciation events. Our volunteers must complete an online application, interview, background checks, an orientation class, and fingerprinting.
Hospice of Michigan requires that any person who has suffered a personal loss wait a period of 12 months prior to volunteering. Thank you for considering supporting our organization by donating your valuable time.

Our experience - We have been serving our communities for more than 30 years. Among our 600 employees, we have more board-certified hospice physicians and nurses than other hospices.
Our locations - We have offices and worksites throughout the Lower Peninsula of Michigan. Wherever you are, we have a team of hospice specialists who can help you.
Our commitment - We care for all who need and seek our care, regardless of their age, diagnosis or ability to pay. We are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week for our patients and families and for admissions.
Our size - We serve nearly 800 patients and their families every day; nearly one in four hospice patients in Michigan.
