Support Group Facilitators are a vital volunteer role within the Alzheimer's Association. Support Group Facilitators create a safe, open environment where people share their feelings, thoughts and experiences in a combined effort to better cope with and manage the shared problems of dementia. You will host the meeting, encourage participants to provide assistance and emotional support to one another.

- enjoy giving back and supporting your community
Support groups are hosted around the Las Vegas and Henderson area as well as in the rural areas of Boulder City, Mesquite, Laughlin, and Pahrump.
SPANISH SPEAKING FACILITATORS PARTICULARLY NEEDED.

The Desert Southwest Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association is a charitable organization governed by a local board of directors. While we are an affiliate of the National Alzheimer's Association based in Chicago, all our work is devoted to providing service and support to Alzheimer's patients, family members and caregivers throughout Nevada.

Our Purpose To empower and support individuals, families, care partners and communities affected by dementia in Arizona and southern Nevada.

- Support Groups are held during the day, evening, and weekends, depending on the needs of the attendees. There is flexibility when assigning volunteer facilitators. Continuity is important. Ongoing and available for 12 months
- Continuity is important. Therefore a co-facilitator will be assigned to each support group to assist.
