We are a grassroots nonprofit here in Asheville called SeekHealing that’s taking a creative approach to preventing opioid addiction relapse and overdose patterns. When the traditional recovery approach is insufficient, our program goes a step further to provide intentional experiences of connection that help people integrate and truly heal after detox. We firmly believe what the latest science clearly shows: that the opposite of addiction is authentic connection. The SeekHealing model aims to reduce regional relapse rates by providing long-term, equal-opportunity aftercare that helps individuals form meaningful connections in their communities.

Looking for a detail-oriented, analytically-minded volunteer to assist with data collection and analysis for an addiction recovery program that pilots a new type of treatment methodology. Following from recent research in striatal neuroscience, the model aims to reduce opioid addiction relapse rates by providing individuals with intentional experiences of authentic interpersonal connection.

Candidate must be able to creatively organize and manipulate data in spreadsheets (Google Forms CSV exports to MS Excel or Google Sheets). Must be detail oriented. Background in psychology preferred. Familiarity with psychometric tests preferred, specifically: DASS, KIMS, DERS, TOP, AMS, PDS and/or ABSEBA.

Volunteer will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring data collection process; following up with program participants as needed
  • Cleaning and organizing raw data as it comes in
  • Devising the best way to parse anecdotal and qualitative data from video logs
  • Assessing quality of existing data collection tools, making recommendations and implementing changes
