Please we're in need of volunteers to pick residential fruit trees, having permission and an appointment. We meet, travel and harvest as a group. This is a great opportunity for school community hours or a family outing.
Sorry, but we do not accept court order probation volunteers.
The harvest process takes less than three hours. Please visit www.harvestcrops.org web page under Volunteers, then Calendar (right panel) for details.
Harvesting 30 lemon trees in Encinitas about 10 minute drive from meeting place . You can Download flyer from www.harvestcrops.org (Click "Check Calendar") All information is on web page under our Calendar.
We are in collaboration with a local harvest group, TheOlivenhain Citrus Project
Families, groups and military are highly encouraged. Tell a friend. Transportation is very limited, reserved for individuals who do not drive.
All fruit picked is donated (transported) to a food distribution center for limited income families and seniors.
Great opportunity for leadership, (must be 20 or older).

Mission Statement
Harvest residential fruit for the benefit of unfortunate people
Description
With permissionn and appointment, we schedule a harvest pick, usually on weekends. We meet as a group, McDonald's parking lot for example. A ten minute briefing and expectation is given and we leave as a group, caravaning. Upon arrival of the resident's home, the group is introduced to the owner asking for any pacific instructions prior to picking the residential fruit tree(s). The complete process takes within 2 to 3 hours. Once finished we take "a trophy picture" showing the buckets in front of the group. The fruit, usually oranges varies upon the season. We use harvest poles, no ladders for safety--emphasised on the premises.
