ORGANIZATION: Project Sanctuary

Volunteer Training Flyer

Project Sanctuary's crisis line volunteer training is once a week from 5:30-9:30 for 5 months. We will start on March 7 and meet on Wednesday evenings.

The training involves presentations by staff and speakers from local agencies and covers a wide range of topics from the history of domestic violence and sexual assault crisis response, teen dating violence, child abuse, SA in the military, crisis call role-playing and more. Upon completion of the training, graduates are state certified domestic violence/ sexual assault peer counselors. We ask that volunteers answer crisis line calls 2-3 times a month from home between 9:30p and 8:30a. You do not have to be awake that whole time, just able to answer if anyone calls. Volunteers also can help in the office with staff or walk-ins and do outreach.

We ask that volunteers make a year-long commitment after completion of the training, and are also available for a 2 hour long continuing education meeting every three months.
