SAY San Diego

SAY San Diego is looking for two VOLUNTEERS to provide administrative support for the planning and execution of fundraising events. Volunteers tasks can include: event planning, organizing, inventory, filing; Internet research; assistance with mailings and phone calls; and event set-up, support and teardown.

Start date: by May 1st(earlier start date welcomed), with a commitment through August 31st. Earlier end dates will be considered, but volunteer must be available through July 27th . Hours per week: 4-8, with an increase of up to 12-20 hours in July (if volunteer is available). Volunteers can work on any work day between 9 AM and 5 PM.

Volunteers work with the Resource Development Department. This department is responsible for fundraising events, communications/marketing, grants, and helps share the story of SAY San Diego to inspire others to support our mission. Volunteers will receive invaluable global knowledge about the nonprofit world, and specific skills related to fundraising and communications. SAY San Diego is eager to make volunteers "part of the team." We would love it if you could join our mission-driven team to help children, families and the community.

Volunteers interested in grants may be given research and reading tasks.

Qualifications:
Experience in fundraising events notrequired
Must be able to communicate comfortably by phone or email
Some knowledge of communications and organizing events preferred
Familiarity with Word, Excel and Outlook, preferred
B.A. or degree in progress preferred
