BECOME A SCIENCE OLYMPIAD COACH!
Do you have just 90 minutes a week, just after school, to help a high school team compete in the Massachusetts Science Olympiad?
Each year, Cambridge public high school students prepare for and participate in this competition, an academic "track meet "with over 20 individual team events in such areas as genetics, earth science, chemistry, anatomy, physics, mechanical engineering, and technology: https://www.soinc.org/about.
Cambridge School Volunteers is seeking people with knowledge of STEM fields to mentor one or two team members in developing their skills for the competition. The requirement for mentors is a minimum of 90 minutes, one afternoon a week, from December until mid-March. The day-long Massachusetts Science Olympiad, to which coaches are invited but are not required to attend, will be held on March 17th, 2018, at Framingham State University.
To become a Science Olympiad advisor for the Cambridge Rindge and Latin School team, you must contact us and complete registration forms prior to our kickoff event on November 30, 2017.
We hope you can join us!
Every school year, CSV places hundreds of volunteers as tutors and mentors in the Cambridge Schools, grades K-12. Visit us at csvinc.org for more information about our programs and the students we serve. If you would like to register for one of our new volunteer orientations by phone, please call us at the office (617) 349-6794.
