About

BECOME A SCIENCE OLYMPIAD HIGH SCHOOL COACH!

Do you have just 90 minutes a week to help a high-school team compete in the Massachusetts Science Olympiad?

Each year, Cambridge students prep for and participate in this competition, an academic track meet with over 20 individual team events in such areas as genetics, earth science, chemistry, anatomy, physics, mechanical engineering, and technology: https://www.soinc.org/about. Cambridge School Volunteers is seeking people with knowledge of the STEM fields to coach these two-person student teams, for about 90 minutes, one afternoon a week, from December until mid-March. The day-long Massachusetts Science Olympiad, which coaches are invited to but are not required to attend, will be held on March 18th, 2017, at Framingham State University.

To become a Cambridge Science Olympiad coach, please contact Deandra Williams, CSV Director of High School Placement and College Readiness, at dewilliams@cpsd.us.

Then please join us at the Kickoff Meeting for Sci Oly coaches and students on Thursday, December 1st, from 2:30-3:30 pm, at Cambridge Rindge and Latin School (CRLS). Prior to this kickoff, we ask that new coaches attend one of the following volunteer orientations, held at CRLS also:
