Center for Changing Lives

Center for Changing Lives (CCL) partners with those held back by lack of resource and economic opportunity to uncover possibilities, overcome barriers, and realize their potential in the form of partnership through coaching, training and educating, skill-building, and advocacy. CCL’s core services of financial, employment, and resource development coaching are supported by the time, skills, and dedication of volunteers.

CCL offers a Business Support Services Training Programs as part of the employment coaching program. This program is designed to support participants in setting and achieving their financial, training, and career goals in the Administration pathway. Participants receive a comprehensive coaching-led approach that puts the participant first and works through financial capacity building, career readiness, foundational digital literacy skills, and continued support as they complete the course and go on for certifications and obtain employment

Members in these programs complete TABE and Digital Literacy pre-and-post assessments and work on reading, math computation, and applied math skills while in the classroom. These fundamental skills support members with larger concepts as they continue on their career paths. CCL is seeking volunteers to support students with ABE (Adult Basic Education) Math in the classroom. The goal is to provide support to members in this program and to raise their ABE scores by at least 1 grade level.

CCL is seeking a volunteer who can commit to working with students at least 2 hours per week on applied math and computation (e.g. pre-algebra, algebra, and basic geometry at the 6th grade level). We are seeking volunteers who can be here at least once per week between 10am-2pm on Monday or Wednesday and who feel comfortable tutoring this material and building relationships with adults. The volunteer must be able to commit for at least ten weeks, or the course of one program.
