Do you love fixing things? Do you love to tinker? Do you consider yourself a handyman or do you have a skills as an electrician, plumber, or carpenter?
Verner, a high quality early childhood education center, seeks experienced volunteers who can help our facilities manager keep two sites safe and up to code. We have one maintenance worker for two schools and the work orders are piling up. The worker does all he can, but he could love some volunteer support changing light bulbs, installing shelves, repairing leaky pipes, fixing circuits, etc.
If you love to fix things, Verner has a spot for you!

Verner is a nonprofit providing high quality, affordable early care and education to children six weeks to five years old in Buncombe County, North Carolina. The organization provides 5-star comprehensive care and education to almost 200 children and their families at two centers in Asheville and Candler, NC and through a home-based Early Head Start program. We also provide families supportive services and programs such as Mothers on the Move, Rainbow In My Tummy(r) and trained staff provide individualized case management to families in crisis. We were founded to ensure that all children have access to high quality affordable care. Our blended program accepts vouchers, as well as private pay families. Verner is also an Early Head Start provider and North Carolina Pre-Kindergarten provider.
