Health Imperatives is seeking a volunteer grant writer to support resource development and fundraising for our programs throughout Southeastern Massachusetts. This person will prepare grant proposals and applications using template content and data provided by Health Imperatives staff. Grants will be either for $5,000 or less, or be grants that Health Imperatives has been awarded multiple years in a row. Qualified candidates should possess excellent writing and computer skills (Microsoft Office Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Excel), and some database entry skills. The candidate must be highly organized with the ability to implement systems and follow-up processes, able to effectively work under pressure, use independent judgment, and produce a finished product within specified time constraints. This volunteer will be supervised by the Director of Community Engagement and Grants Manager.
Health Imperatives is a non-profit community based agency that provides vital public health and human services to more than 25,000 families and individuals in Southeastern Massachusetts, the Cape, and Islands each year. For 40 years we have offered a continuum of safety, prevention, and intervention services and have worked with vulnerable populations to create healthy, safe, and vibrant families and communities.
Our mission is to improve the health and well-being of low-income or vulnerable families and individuals in Southeastern Massachusetts.

Who we are:
Health Imperatives is a non-profit community based agency that provides vital health and human services to nearly 30,000 families and individuals each year from communities stretching from Quincy to Nantucket.
Health Imperatives promotes healthy, safe, and vibrant families and communities. We support families and individuals who are struggling to cope with the devastating effects of poverty and violence, individuals who are worried about their health and safety, and parents who may be unprepared for the challenges of raising young children. Our health, nutrition, and counseling programs provide help, hope, and opportunity to local families and individuals.

- Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Nutrition Program
