Health Imperatives is a non-profit community based agency that provides vital health and human services to nearly 30,000 families and individuals each year from communities stretching from Quincy to Nantucket. Our mission is to improve the health and well-being of low-income or vulnerable families and individuals in Southeastern Massachusetts.
What we do:
Personal Health and Family Planning Clinics offer personal and reproductive health care services to vulnerable populations including immigrants, gay/lesbian individuals, incarcerated youth, and adults with HIV/AIDS. Services include contraception and pregnancy testing, rapid HIV/Hepatitis C testing, cancer screening, and more.
Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services include trauma support and counseling for survivors of violence, our emergency domestic violence shelter (the only one in Plymouth County), medical and court/legal advocacy, and prevention education.
Young Parent Education and Support Servicesprovides home visiting services and case management support to young parents, infants, and toddlers to ensure healthy families and children.
Nutrition Assistance for parents and children, including counseling, education, and food vouchers to support healthy moms and children. Services are provided throughout the region.
