Have you always thought about being a hospital gift shop volunteer? Now is your chance! Davis Hospital will be adding several new gift shop volunteers, age 55 and greater.
Most volunteers serve one 4-hour shift weekly. The hospital provides a free meal at the cafeteria with each shift volunteered.
Monday - Friday shifts include:
9:00 am - 1:00 pm
12:300pm - 4:00 pm
Volunteers commit to a total of 80 volunteer hours, which with a 4-hour weekly shift would equate to 5-6 months.
All volunteers will be required to pass a drug screen, 2-step TB test, background check, and immunization check. Volunteers also will attend a New Employee Orientation, Volunteer Orientation (brief), and a position-specific training.
This opportunity is offered through Davis Co. retired & Senior Volunteer Program and is for people age 55 or more. Benefits of volunteering through RSVP includes:
- Mileage reimbursement for travel to and from the volunteer site
- Supplemental insurance while in service
- Ongoing recognition programs throughout the year

Mission Statement
Davis County RSVP empowers and enables Americans 55+ in addressing community needs and concerns through volunteering.
Description
Americans 55+ have a lifetime of experience to share and the desire to make a real difference in their world. Members of this mature generation have managed households, been business owners and nurses, farmers and salespeople, artists and executives. Now they are ready to put their unique talents and expertise to work in their communities, and enrich their own lives in the process.
RSVP is the connection to aid volunteers in choosing how and where to serve, time of service, causes to support, and how to get started. RSVP provides pre-service orientation, training from the organization where service is given, supplemental insurance while on duty, and, in some cases, a mileage reimbursement to cover the cost of travel between home and the volunteer site.
When you volunteer, you're not just helping others - you're helping yourself. Volunteering leads to new discoveries and new friends. Plus, studies show that volunteering helps you live longer and promotes a positive outlook on life.
