Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest creates a foundation for 70,000 men, women and children to thrive across Arizona. Volunteer purposeTo research other community resources that offer services for people experiencing homelessness, in need of rental assistance, or in need of various emergency services.
Duties and responsibilities· Create a guide for community members that includes shelters, food banks, rental assistance locations, emergency assistance services.
· Research all nonprofits within Pima County that provide services that we do not, creating a network of resources for community members, and for staff to use to provide referrals.
· Keep detailed records of findings and best referral contact information.
Qualifications· Internet and computer competency
· Ability to use a telephone
· Organized individual who likes to research and network
Working conditionsNo specific working conditions. Volunteers can work on this role from wherever they feel it is appropriate.
HoursSchedule is up to the volunteer. This volunteer role should be able to be completed within 1 to 2 months with an average of 2-5 volunteer hours weekly.
