Home Visit Volunteers:
-are the first TCPR person a foster applicant will actually talk to (outside of email). So its a prime time to talk about your experience as a foster (if you are one!) or key things to remember from the foster handbook.
-help dog adopters look at their home from the dogs point of view to help ensure a smooth transition from their foster home
-have a super flexible time commitment. You can choose how many you want to do and what time you want to do them! Most of the applicants prefer evenings. But mornings and afternoons are needed as well!
-volunteer 100% remotely! Home visits are done via a video conferencing app of your choice (FaceTime, Google Meet, Zoom, etc) and take about 30-60 minutes.
Training consists of a pre-recorded home visit that you can watch at anytime and then a short quiz/survey at the end. After that, we will have you shadow another home visit volunteer to see how things are done before you take on a home visit on your own!

Mission Statement
Our mission is to rescue abandoned, homeless, abused, neglected, and otherwise unwanted dogs, cats and small companion animals, with the ultimate goal of finding each one a stable and loving forever home. We specialize in providing care for animals with medical needs and behavioral issues and transitioning them thoughtfully and safely into adoptive homes.
Description
Twin Cities Pet Rescue (TCPR) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal rescue that operates almost entirely by volunteer efforts. We rescue dogs, cats, and small companion animals and place them in foster homes until they are adopted by a forever family. TCPR focuses on rescuing animals in critical need and those at risk of being euthanized. Many of our foster animals have or had special medical needs.
Once rescued, all animals stay in foster homes, receive optimal veterinary care, high-quality nutrition, and basic training in preparation for adoption. We have rescued and placed more than 2,000 animals with loving forever families since our founding in 2009.
We also provide community animal services including nail trim and microchip clinics, educational events and pet-friendly activity events. Our work cannot continue without ongoing help from amazing volunteers. Please consider joining the TCPR team today and help save the lives of companion animals one life at a time!
