We rescue abandoned, homeless, abused, neglected, and otherwise unwanted dogs with the ultimate goal of finding each one a stable and loving forever home. Many of these animals would otherwise be euthanized if they were not rescued. We are only able to rescue animals for which we have an available foster home. Fostering entails opening your home and heart to a companion animal in-need. There is no cost to you other than your time. Twin Cities Pet Rescue provides all the supplies, support, and vetting for our foster animals. We ask you to provide a structured, safe, and loving home for the foster animal until a "furever" home is found. As a foster home, you also provide: Transportation for your foster animal to vet appointments, adoption events, or meet and greets Training and socializing for your foster animal Information and updates to Twin Cities Pet Rescue about your foster animal DOG FOSTERING PROCESS To foster a dog from Twin Cities Pet Rescue, you must: Complete an online foster home application here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/foster/TCPR/Dog Your form will be reviewed by one of our foster coordinators. We will respond to your foster home application within 72 hours. Complete a virtual home visit. If your application to foster is accepted, a virtual home visit is then scheduled and completed. Begin Fostering! After a home visit is complete, you can begin fostering and helping to save the life of a dog in need. For more information about our dog fostering process please visit our website here: https://twincitiespetrescue.org/how-to-foster/ Questions about dog fostering? Email dogs@twincitiespetrescue.org.

Virtual Opportunity
TCPR is looking for volunteer help with intake management! We're looking for organized, tech savvy individuals who are comfortable both working independently and collaborating with the team as needed. This is an unprecedented time in animal rescue and the need for rescues to take in animals far exceeds our ability to intake them. In this role, you will correspond through email with individuals, external shelters, and animal control agencies to assess if TCPR can help take in an animal they are reaching out about (in partnership with the intake coordinator and foster team). If we aren't able to help with an animal, you will also be responsible for communicating that and providing a list of resources they can consider. You will also be responsible for adding animals to and updating our waitlist within our animal management software and coordinating transfers into rescue with the third party and a TCPR foster home (through email). This roll is 100% virtual and the ideal volunteer would have approx. 1 hour every 1-3 days to help with intake communications. There are occasional opportunities to help with in person intake duties during large transports. But that is optional and infrequent.

TCPR is looking to add more volunteers to our vetting team! Prior knowledge or experience with cat and dog vetting (in any capacity) is helpful, but not required. Vetting volunteers will review medical issues submitted by fosters and then work with our medical director, vetting coordinator, and various external clinics to determine next steps. This role is 100% virtual but could include in person time during our routine vetting clinics that occur every 3-4 weeks if you are interested. Vetting team members should be comfortable working with various computer programs and reading/writing emails. Volunteers should also be willing to work on your own but consult with the team as needed.

Mission Statement
Our mission is to rescue abandoned, homeless, abused, neglected, and otherwise unwanted dogs, cats and small companion animals, with the ultimate goal of finding each one a stable and loving forever home. We specialize in providing care for animals with medical needs and behavioral issues and transitioning them thoughtfully and safely into adoptive homes.
Description
Twin Cities Pet Rescue (TCPR) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal rescue that operates almost entirely by volunteer efforts. We rescue dogs, cats, and small companion animals and place them in foster homes until they are adopted by a forever family. TCPR focuses on rescuing animals in critical need and those at risk of being euthanized. Many of our foster animals have or had special medical needs.
Once rescued, all animals stay in foster homes, receive optimal veterinary care, high-quality nutrition, and basic training in preparation for adoption. We have rescued and placed more than 2,000 animals with loving forever families since our founding in 2009.
We also provide community animal services including nail trim and microchip clinics, educational events and pet-friendly activity events. Our work cannot continue without ongoing help from amazing volunteers. Please consider joining the TCPR team today and help save the lives of companion animals one life at a time!
