Our organization is an all-volunteer run board of directors. We hold a yearly weekend event for 20,000+ attendees which requires organization of 200+ volunteers to help launch the hot air balloons and run the event. The current coordinator will be stepping down however will stay on for a while to her replacement.
We meet monthly in Santa Rosa and then weekly as the event approaches. You will be responsible for finding and organizing the volunteers needed for the event. We have a good pool of volunteers as well as online sign up forms to make it all easier. You will need to attend the 3 days of the event in early June to check in and keep volunteers running smoothly.
You will get a lot of support from other board members and putting on a Sonoma County signature that thousands get to enjoy is well worth the work. As an added bonus we donate proceeds to the Redwood Empire Food Bank among other non-profits.
