ORGANIZATION: National Alliance on Mental Illness of Central Virginia (NAMI-CVA)

  • 22 people are interested

NAMI Central Virginia promotes recovery and improves the quality of life for Virginians with serious mental illness and their families through education, support, advocacy and anti-stigma campaigns. NAMI-CVA offers the understanding that only those with the lived experience of mental illness can provide. Together with our grassroots volunteers, we work every day to provide help and hope to millions of Americans.

NAMI-CVA is seeking compassionate individuals willing to share some free time by helping out at our Hopewell office located at the John Randolph Medical Center! The office is open to the public and we need a volunteer present to provide any visitors with information on NAMI, our programs, and mental health resources. It's a great opportunity to gain volunteer hours and help the community, all while catching up on your reading or studies as there is usually quite a bit of down time. The time commitment is flexible based on your schedule, but it is typically a few hours a day between Monday and Friday, 9 AM - 4 PM.
