Wishes & More is hosting the annual fundraiser "The Beach Ball - Glam in the Sand" Event on Saturday February 24th 2018.


The Winter Ball is the primary fundraiser for Wishes & More. Approximately 720 guests who attend from individuals, to couples, to companies - almost all are adult attendees. The event consists of a social hour with bidding on auction items and fun activities for people to play, then a special program highlighting the annual activities of Wishes & More, then a life auction followed by a dance with a DJ.

Volunteers can help in the following ways:

Set up: 8 AM- 4 PM Volunteers are needed to help set up for the event. Volunteers may unload trucks, create and organize auction displays, construct set-up décor areas, collate gift bags, set-up registration, organize event, set out items on guests chairs, put up signage, etc. Usually 80 volunteers are needed during this timeframe to assist with set up.

Event Volunteers: 3 PM - 11 PM. Event volunteers are needed to help run events (registration, auction, program, photography, coat check, raffles, etc). Volunteers during the event should be well-versed in technology and outgoing enough to be willing helpers to guests who may need assistance with bidding on their mobile phones, finding auction items, selling opportunities to participate in activities, checking people in and out, collecting donation forms and helping people gather auction items at the conclusion of the evening. The ideal event volunteers are just happy, outgoing, personable, willing to pitch in, helpers. Usually about 50 volunteers are needed to assist during this timeframe.

Event Clean Up & Tear-Down: 10:30 PM - 1:30 AM. Volunteers assist in putting away the décor, boxing up winning auction items, throwing away garbage & boxes, etc. 25 people are needed to help clean-up after the ball.
